This is the short version: We don’t use any analytics service and don’t store any other data than the comments you leave. The website does have links to external websites that we have no control over. The website uses gravatar and paypal integrations that load external content. We try to use as little external dependencies as possible. We highly respect your privacy and hope you appreciate that.

What personal data we collect

We removed Google Analytics and Google Fonts. The website does not collect any data by itself other than when you leave comments. However, there are embedded videos and other media on the website, so other websites might collect data. For further information take a look at the paragraph “Embedded content from other websites”

This website uses Google Fonts. The fonts are served through fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. More information

Why the data is collected

We use Google Fonts since it is a very easy way to serve fonts quickly (since you might have already cached them from another site). We do respect and encourage privacy, so we suggest to control what data is sent by blocking cookies and content. We recommend the free open source plugin Privacy Badger by EFF.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

The only data of yours we store is comments. They are handled through wordpress own comment feature. Everything is password protected, but we can’t guarantee that there are no flaws in wordpress.
